How to Get Listed in the Voters List

Whenever the government wants to enroll the new citizens (those who have completed 18 years of age) in the voters list, they publish the Government Order (GO) in all the leading newspapers and also announce in All India Radio & Doordarshan. Normally this registration takes place before municipal/ general (state assembly or parliament) elections. |

Get form No. 6 from the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) office, which is available at free of cost. This form asks your name, full residence address, locality, etc. |

Submit the form at MCH office. You do not need to submit any documentation along with this form. You must be at least 18 years old. |

Municipal office inspection team will visit your house to verify the details that you have provided in the application. The inspection team also accompanies a local person. |

At the time of inspection if the particulars are found correct then the person's name will be registered in the voters list. | |
In practice, about six months prior to elections Municipal office inspection team visits every house (without any appointment) to check for any additions or deletions of names. If you are in house at that time, you are lucky and are saved from all the above mentioned procedures.
