This park the largest zoo in India. The zoo sprawls across 300 lush green acres and provides natural habitat to over two hundred fifty species.
This park boasts of the first lion safari park in Asia. It houses Lions and Bengal tigers. This has to be visited in a four wheeler. There is a separate charge for this.
Visitors also get a chance to see the nocturnal habitat of animals in the Nocturnal Animal House, besides visiting the Prehistoric Animal Park, Ancient Life Museum, Natural History Museum.
Tiny tots will definitely remember the most popular kids' train ride.
On the left of the Zoo, one can find Miralam Tank. This is an artificial lake. This was built between 1804 and 1808, on the orders of Nawab Tourab Ali Khan (Salarjung I). It was named after Mir Alam and was by French Engineers in his court. This is the primary water source for the Zoo. It is a mile long with gates.
